To Quote all Scriptures in this post will make it way too long. I encourage everyone to look up and read all verses and match with the facts presented here.
In Luke 1:1-4 Luke seems really positive that He can tell Theophilus the facts starting with the conception of John the Immerser.
Luke1:5 Herod was King during this time period.
Zacharias was priest serving under the course of AbiYah when the messenger Gabriel appeared to announce Elisabeth would be able to conceive in her old age.
Luke1;23 Luke says as soon as Zacharias's service was accomplished, He departed to His own house.
Luke 1:24 Luke tells us after those Days Elisabeth conceived and hid herself 5 months.
(After the days of Zacharias service were completed)
Luke 1:26 Luke tells us it was in the 6th month, and the messenger Gabriel was sent to Mary to announce the conception of Messiah.
Luke 1:36 The Messenger Gabriel tells Mary that her cousin Elisabeth had also conceived, and it was the 6th month of Elisabeth's pregnancy confirming that John and Messiah were conceived 6 months apart.
Luke 1:39-56 Mary goes and stays with Elisabeth for 3 months.
Here in Luke chapter 1, we have a clear picture of the conception of both John and Messiah being 6 months apart and the time of John's conception was soon after the time Zacharias was serving under the Course of AbiYah during Herod's rule.
Luke chapter 2 will give us the timeline of the Messiah's birth.
Luke 2:1-2 a decree went out from Caesar Augustus for all the world to be registered.
Luke 2: 4-7 Joseph and Mary go up from Galilee into Judaea the city of David to register.
While they were there Mary gave birth to Messiah in a manger because there was no room in the Inn. (This would have been about a 90-mile trip.)
Luke 2:8 shows the time of the year being warm enough for the shepherds to still be living out in the fields keeping watch over their flocks by night.
Luke 2:22-23 when Mary's days of purification were complete (40 days according to torah and the birth of the 1st son) they took Messiah to Jerusalem to be presented before Yah.
(This trip being only about 6 miles and taking only a few days.)
Luke chapter 3 will give us a timeline for when John and Messiah start their Ministries.
Luke 3:1-3 It's the 15th year of the rule of Tiberius Ceasar when John is called to start His Ministry.
Luke 3:21-23 John Baptizes Messiah being 30 years old.
Here in Luke 3, We see John and Messiah are 30 years in the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar's rule.
Luke 4:1-15 Afterwards Messiah was led into the wilderness for 40 days; He returns to Galilee to start His Ministry.
Now let's put these timelines in order according to Historical Records.
Herod died at 70 years of age. Josephus states Herod was 25 when he was appointed governor of Galilee in 47 BCE. Josephus also states that Herod became King of Judea 27 years after Galilee was captured by Pompey in 63 BCE. This would indicate Herod became King of Judea in 36 BCE. Josephus says Herod died 34 years after becoming King of Judea. That places Herod's death in 2 BCE. This information comes from Josephus Biblical Archaeology Review. We can see that Messiah's birth would be at least two years before Herod's death because he ordered all male children two years and younger be killed before He died.
Looking into the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar's rule we see according to the Historian
Suetonius in, " The Lives of the Twelve Caesars", that Tiberius Caesar's rule was from 13AD to 37AD Making His 15th ruling year as 27AD.
If Messiah was 30 years old in the 15th year of Caesar's rule in 27AD, then counting backwards puts John and Messiah's birth in 4 BCE two years before Herod's death in 2 BCE.
According to the Priestly Courses 4 BCE is a year one of the Priestly Courses with Gamul starting the year.
Now that we have a year of both Messiah and John's birth we need to find the
course of AbiYah in which John was conceived.
1st choice is the course of AbiYah in the 4th month the 5th day of the month thru the 11th day in the 6th year of priestly courses. This 1st choice of the course of AbiYah puts John born at Passover in the year 4 BCE and Messiah 6 months later at sukkot both in a year one of the Priestly Courses starting with Gamul. This choice lines up with Herod's rule and death in 2BCE, and with the 15th year of Caesar's rule in 27 AD showing the Messiah being 30 years old in 27AD clearly putting His birth in 4 BCE and 2 years before Herod's death.
2nd choice would be the 9th month the 22nd day of the month thru the 28th of the 6th year priestly courses. This 2nd choice puts John born at the end of the 8th month in a year one of the priestly courses and Messiah born at the end of the 5th month in the 2nd year of the priestly courses making Messiah's birth in 3 BCE and less than two years before Herod's death in 2 BCE and over 30 years old in 27AD.
3rd choice would be 10th month the 19th thru the 23rd in the 5th year of the priestly courses.
This 3rd choice puts John born at sukkot in the 6th year of priestly courses in the year 5BCE and Messiah born at Passover in the Year 4 BCE. Making John's Ministry starting in the 26 AD a year earlier then Ceasars 15th year rule in 27 AD.
Now let's see how the Priest and their name meanings fit with the 1st choice of the course of AbiYah in the 4th month of the 6th year of the Priestly Courses.
Gamul meaning the reward of the First-Born, the First Fruits.
4 BCE John born 1st year Priestly Course of Gamul at Passover under Priest Maaziah meaning Yah has gathered and rescued us.
4 BCE Messiah born 1st year Priestly Course of Gamul at Sukkot under Priest Yedaiah meaning Yah does see and know.
27 AD Is a Year 1 of the Priestly courses Starting with Gamul when John Baptizes Messiah. Messiah is anointed to start His ministry in the 7th month now being 30 years old under the Priest Yedaiah meaning Yah does see and know. Same Priest Messiah was born under.
29 AD Luke 4:16-20; Is.61:1&2 Messiah announce the year of Release at Atonement under Priest Yahshua! meaning Yah Saves!
30 AD Sabbath year starts in the 1st month. Messiah dies at Passover in priestly course year 4 starting with Shecaniah meaning Yahweh dwells in Him. Under Priest Yakim serving at Passover meaning Yah Will Raise Up!!
30 AD Messiah goes to the Father and is accepted as the First Fruits offering on the 26th of the 1st month under Priest Yeshebeab meaning From the throne/seat of the Father.
We can add a few more interesting matches and name meaning using our established dates of Joseph and Mary's travel to Jerusalem for Messiah's Dedication at the Temple.
40 days after Messiah's birth at sukkot will get you to the 25th day of the 8th month add 2 days for travel = around the 27th or 28th being presented either on the 5th or 6th day of the week under the priest AbiYah meaning Yah is the Father!
Another interesting fact is the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD 40 years after the death of Messiah in 30 AD.
