From the LXX for clarity;
Numbers 19:11-13 He that touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean 7 days.
He shall be purified on the 3rd day and the 7th day and shall be clean; but if he be not purged on the 3rd. day and the 7th day, he shall not be clean. Anyone that touches the corpse.... but has not been purified, he has polluted the tent of Yah; that person will be destroyed from among Isreal because the water of sprinkling was not sprinkled on him. He is unclean; his same impurity still remains in him.
The Messiah rose from the grave after 3 days and 3 nights at the end of the Sabbath during the days of Unleavened Bread.
Unleavened Bread last for 7 days.
Messiah rose on the 4th Day after being put into the tomb, on the evening of the 1st day of Unleavened Bread, according to the Zadokite Priestly Calendar.
That leaves 3 days until the last Day of Unleavened Bread.
This last day of Unleavened Bread would be the required 3rd day of cleansing of a dead body according to Numbers 19 leaving 4 more days until the 7th day to be clean.
This 7th day would be the 25th day of the 1st month.
The 1st.Sabbath Day after the days of Unleavened Bread were over.
The cleansing period would now be accomplished according to the Torah, and the Messiah would be accepted by Yah fulfilling all righteousness so His impurity would not remain.
The next day would be the 1st day of the week corresponding to the Wave Sheaf on the 26th day of the 1st month according to the Zadokite Priestly calendar, the 8th day from the resurrection. The Wave Sheaf happened on the Zadokite Priestly calendar under the Priestly course of Yeshebeab, meaning from the throne room of the Father, during the year Messiah.
Up until the wave sheaf day they were not allowed to touch Messiah.
John 20:17
Messiah saith unto her, touch me not; for I have not yet Ascended to my Father.
John 20:26-27
And After 8 days again his disciples were within and Thomas with them; then came Messiah, the doors being shut, and stood in the mist, and said, Peace be unto you.
then saith He to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.
Acts 1:2-3
Until the day in which He was taken up. After He had given commandments unto the disciples to whom He had chosen.
To whom He showed Himself alive after His passion, (G3958 meaning to be affected or have been affected, to feel, have a sensible experience, to undergo, of a sick person) by many infallible proofs, being seen of them 40 days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom.
verse 9
and when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
This 40-day period where Messiah walked and taught the disciples had to be after He was cleansed and the count would start on the Day of the Wave Sheaf offering.
The 40th day ascension of Messiah the year He died was under the priestly course of Pethahiah, meaning Yah has opened wide and set the captives free, on the Zadokite Priestly calendar.
The 40-day count on the Zadokite Priestly calendar this year 2026 would be May 21st leaving only 10 days for the disciples to wait for the Day of Shavuot.
The Priest serving on the Zadokite Priestly calendar for Shavuot that year the Messiah ascended was Yakin, meaning Yah will establish us as a pillar in His Hekal.
The number ten symbolizes a period of divine completeness. The number 10 represents divine order and human responsibility as seen in the 10 Commandments.
Why does this 40-day count mean so much?
All throughout the scriptures the number 40 signifies a period of testing, trial, purification, or preparation for new growth, transformation, a change from one great task to another tasks. The Messiah spent 40 days straight after His days of cleansing were fulfilled from wave sheaf until He was taken up preparing His taught ones for the next great task head!
The rain fell 40 days in the flood story.
Isreal wondered in the wilderness 40 years.
Moshe went up the Mt 3 times 40 days each.
Eliyah traveled 40 days to reach Mt. Horeb.
Messiah was tested 40 days before starting his ministry.
Messiah left nothing undone but fulfilled the Law Perfectly!
